The plans give precise details about the frame of the black boards in each of the classrooms.  Until about six years ago, most of the rooms still had the original slate boards.  Anyone who has spent a semester writing on slate will tell you how far superior these are to any other material.  The facilities office was concerned that chalk was doing damage to the VCRs in the classrooms, and one weekend, all of the slate disappeared, replaced by white boards.  Yolanda had recently stocked up on chalk for the department, so if you know of any place that you can use it, let her know.
